first things first: we absolutely love the idea of engagement shoots that represent the everyday lifestyle of our couples. when we initially met with lisa+matt we asked them all about their life together.. where they live, how they met, their interests, etc…. we find it very important when photographing couples to make sure we know a little bit about them. our engagement shoots are a really great opportunity to introduce our style of photographing to our clients and more importantly to get to know each other in the process. this way, by the time the wedding day rolls around we all feel like old friends and we can celebrate together as we document their wedding story. it really is a win-win.
we met up with lisa+matt at their home in old city philadelphia, one of our favorite spots in the city. the first location we went for photos was just a few blocks away at the artful dodger, an ale house where lisa+matt had their first date (: we continued to wonder around the city finding good light and cool locations before heading back to their place for an outfit change. while there we scored a killer sunset on their rooftop which overlooks the city. i actually had to climb over the railing of the roof deck to get the angle, which put me only a few inches away from a 4 story drop to the street. luckily i am blessed with ninja-like skills. (;
after sunset we all decided to grab some drinks on south street at a cool little mexican restaurant that they like to have dinner together. great conversation, margaritas and coronas totally hit the spot to end our wonderful afternoon getting to know lisa+matt. lauren+i can’t wait to see these two again on their wedding day to share some more stories. enjoy.
